Designed for an elderly couple, this home sits upon a very small inner-urban block. With the requirements of this beautiful, charismatic couple, the home needed to contain not just the lifestyle requirements, but it needed to reflect the boldness and blatant honesty of them externally.

A strong use of elements and form come together to deliver a façade that is unique but not showy. The mixed use of materials were carefully chosen to reflect the building that stood there previously with a slant toward expressionism and interpretation. Despite the tight block, the house has been cleverly designed to be light filled and sensible with its layout to be multi-purposed should extended family wish to stop over.

Internally, it offers an upside-down design with the main living areas and master bedroom occupying this space. An elevator makes for ease of access should there be the need to eventually negate the use of the staircase.
