Westmeath

Australian lifestyle wrapped up with Rhode Island styling sets the scene for this beautiful, textured light filled home. Opening out onto three separate terraces, this home is a perfect response to a corner block with a potential view. Every angle of this home offers a layered thought process through its use of proportion and materials.  Sensitively incorporating a traditional and contemporary aesthetic, this home is a timeless rendition of what beautiful design celebrates.

Internally the home has used exposed cross beams spanning a raked ceiling that terminates to a centred stone clad fireplace flanked by glass. This roof continues through to a vaulted ceiling that pitches above a large open terrace to celebrate the water view beyond.

Conscious of not being formal internally, various design quirks have enabled this home to feel relaxed and likened by many like the inside of a boathouse on a jetty sitting on water. A home like this requires a greater level of thought to the internal detailing and these cannot be scrimped on or watered down otherwise it loses its appeal very quickly. Ultimately, the devil is in the detail and the execution in the construction has been done beautifully in order to reflect this.
